Today, I had a very good experience while getting help at the Drive Test Centre, Midtown Mall, Oshawa, Ontario. Upon arriving at the Drive Test, I was asked what my purpose for visiting the facility. All others were waiting to take a driver's test. I was not. I was the only one waiting for something besides a test. Staff was available inside to help me deal with the fact that somehow my license was not valid. A person named Kate was the one helping me. In actual fact, my license was valid and had never been invalid. Kate took the time to investigate the situation. She contacted the Hot Line and found where the problem was. Before contacting the Hot Line, she showed me where I would be able to sit down and wait. With my back issues, I was surely appreciative. The problem had been created by Service Ontario. Given COVID, there is no blame to be placed. I was given a case number and told how to follow up. I was advised, that if I was stopped by an officer and charged with an invalid license in the interim, I how to deal with it. So many people only complain about the negative. I believe that the good should also be recognized. Kate and the staff need to be recognized. Efficient, friendly, and supportive.
